“15 Reasons Why To Walk”
Vasculitis Foundation Canada weathered the pros, cons, ups and downs of making a special event happen. As a first, our Picnic/Walk came through with flying colours. Our gross intake surpassed $17,000.00 with our net coming in over 50%. This, in itself, is a huge success. The recognition of our efforts by area dignitaries with their attendance, Regional Chair Ken Sieling, Mayor of Cambridge Doug Craig, Councilor Karl Kiefer, Cambridge Hospital Chief of Staff Dr. Michael Lawrie, and Dr. Jasmine Matthew, gave us a morale boost. Even the rain couldn’t wash that away.
The proud moment of the day was the introduction of Dr. Christian Pagnoux. A research doctor from Paris, France. With the urging of Dr. Simon Carette, Dr. Pagnoux is presently in Toronto on a 2-year program working on the complex issues of Vasculitis. This, for our support group and, especially for the patients and families that we work for, gives us the one important thing that we all need – HOPE. With optimism, we can look forward to the day that our dreams of finding the answers can be a reality.
With the added support of family, friends, both near and far, we can forge our way, one step at a time, toward our goal.
